Dr. Beth Hudak joins the CAM

Photograph of Dr. Bethany Hudak

We are thrilled that Dr. Beth Hudak joined the CAM in March 2026 after nearly 7 years as a research chemist at the U. S. Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. There she used advanced TEM imaging and spectroscopy techniques to study Naval-relevant materials, with a focus on atomic- and nanoscale features. Beth is excited for the opportunity to collaborate with the MSU community and apply TEM to meet their research goals.

So far Dr. Hudak has been successful in revitalizing the STEM, STEM-EDS, and energy-filtered TEM capabilities on our 2200FS TEM.  She will also take the lead on installation and operation of our new aberration-corrected analytical STEM  (ThermoFisher Spectra 200) to be installed in summer of 2027. Reach out to Beth to say hello see how she can help support your materials TEM research!
